In Southwest Denver, Re:Vision is helping close longstanding gaps in food access and economic opportunity by equipping families with the tools, knowledge, and resources to build healthier, more self-sufficient lives. Through urban agriculture, youth education, workforce development, community leadership, and culturally rooted food programs, we are advancing food sovereignty, celebrating Latinx culture, and building lasting resilience.

How Re:Vision Creates Change
Re:Vision uses food as an entrée into community self-sufficiency through its urban agriculture model, hiring and training community members, expanding youth education, and supporting local entrepreneurship. Through Proyecto Soberanía, four urban farms, 100 family gardens, and nine Champion Gardens strengthen Southwest Denver's local food system by creating jobs, preserving culture, and increasing access to fresh, healthy food. In 2025, these community-led efforts produced more than 90,000 pounds of food, advancing food sovereignty while building economic opportunity and long-term community resilience.
community Health
Access to nutritious, culturally relevant food improves far more than physical health. In 2025, Re:Vision's No-Cost Grocery served 5,945 families, including 8,991 youth, distributing more than one million pounds of food. Families participating in the Family Gardens program also reported eating more fresh vegetables, feeling more confident feeding their households, and gaining greater control over their food choices. Together, Re:Vision's programs are improving health outcomes while making healthy food more accessible across Southwest Denver.
community wealth
Strong communities require strong local economies. Re:Vision invests in neighborhood leadership by employing local residents as promotoras, farm staff, and grocery team members while supporting small businesses through affordable office and commercial kitchen space. These investments create employment opportunities, strengthen entrepreneurship, and help ensure economic growth remains rooted within the community.
community community resilience
Community resilience grows when neighbors lead neighbors. Throughout 2025, Re:Vision's promotoras served as trusted connectors, helping families access resources, build confidence, and strengthen relationships. Their lived experiences and shared language helped foster belonging while preserving culture and empowering residents to become leaders within their own neighborhoods. Through community events, gardens, and outreach, Re:Vision continues to build a more connected and resilient Southwest Denver.
community education
Re:Vision is helping close educational gaps by providing youth with hands-on experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Through programs like Semillas de Esperanza and Semillas de Agua, students explored urban agriculture, food systems, STEM, climate science, cooking, food preservation, and workforce development while strengthening their connection to cultural heritage. More than 90% of participants reported gaining skills related to food sovereignty and traditional agricultural practices, while nearly all participants said they felt a sense of belonging through the program. These experiences prepare young people with practical skills they'll carry for a lifetime.
cultivating community
The greatest impact happens when programs work together. Families who first connected through a backyard garden often continued their journey through the No-Cost Grocery, cooking classes, youth programs, community events, and advocacy initiatives. Throughout 2025, Re:Vision also hosted community town halls, Know Your Rights trainings, legal clinics, wellness classes, and cultural celebrations, creating opportunities for neighbors to connect, learn, and thrive together. Every program contributes to a stronger, safer, and more resilient Southwest Denver.
